WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao met November 12th foe Juan Manuel Marquez for dinner earlier today in Manilla ahead of the start of the official press tour to promote the fight.
The tour, beginning only moments from now, will see the pair field questions in Manilla, New York, Los Angeles and finally Marquez’s home town of Mexico City.
This is of course far from the first time the fighters will have faced the fans and media together.
Pacquiao and Marquez met at featherweight and super featherweight in 2004 and 2008 respectively. The first fight was ruled a draw and the second a split decision win for Pacquiao.
Marquez however has always disputed both decisions and believes that he should be coming into their third encounter with two wins over the Filipino on his record.
The third fight then will serve to either remove all doubt from Pacquiao’s win over Marquez or to give the Mexican’s claims of having done enough on previous occasions a lot more weight.
