Earlier today in Hollywood, California, there was a rare sight to behold as two of the world?s best lightweights, Juan Manuel Marquez and Brandon Rios, stood side by side. Marquez was in town at the Fortune Gym to help promote his upcoming trilogy bout with Manny Pacquiao, set to take place this November 12th in Las Vegas, and Rios and stable mate Mikey Garcia were there to offer him greetings.
Rios has often said in the past how much he craved a fight with Marquez but he now looks to be eyeing a slot on the Pacquiao-Marquez III pay-per-view undercard portion instead. As for Garcia, one of the sport?s top featherweights, it looks as though he will be penciled in as the co-feature bout to Nonito Donaire?s return fight on October 22nd.
Marquez is slated to begin a worldwide promotional tour in early September and then will break for camp in Mexico with trainer Nacho Beristain.
