Amir Khan will have two bouts before a possible shot at pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather Jnr late in 2012, Golden Boy Promotions confirmed on Tuesday.
The IBF and WBA world light-welterweight champion hopes to face Erik Morales on December 10, assuming the Mexican legend beats Lucas Matthysse for the vacant WBC title next month, but Khan could meet the winner of Robert Guerrero?s August 27 fight with Marcos Maidana.
A third option would be to fight Lamont Peterson, the IBF?s mandatory challenger, before Khan makes his welterweight debut in March next year ahead of a megafight with Mayweather in November.
