“Inseparable, that’s how we’ll always be.” So goes the lyrics of a song made popular by Natalie Cole. But will Pacquiao and Arum remain inseparable despite the unraveling of hidden information that would support claims of irregularities in purse sharing? But now it seems there’s going to be no “unraveling of hidden information” in the next few days as Pacquiao has opted to cancel or terminate his engagement contract with VisionQwest, the company he hired to unravel the “hidden” information that would possibly put Top Rank in an embarrassing situation. Bothered by claims from within his team of possible short-changing or even misappropriation of his rightful share of the purse, Pacquiao decided to hire the services of VisionQwest a management and accounting/auditing firm, to do an audit and review of his past and future contracts. But in the middle of their engagement and armed with initial findings of possible misrepresentation, VisionQwest got a letter of termination of their services from Pacquiao’s lawyers. Obviously, the termination letter will prevent VisionQwest from divulging its findings. The cancellation or termination of the contract was preceded by a series of charges or allegations of impropriety among key people in Team Pacquiao in connection with the VisionQwest engagement. Michael Koncz, the long-time adviser of Pacquaio and manager of his MP Boxing Promotions, has been tagged as the one who recommended VisionQwest to Team Pacquiao. But ironically, he appeared to be the same guy who wants VisionQwest out of the picture, a situation even avid Pacquiao fans and supporters do not understand. Why is Koncz appears to be flip flopping? Why was he summoned by Bob Arum to rush to Manila to talk to Pacquiao after news were circulated about his impending termination as Pacquiao’s adviser and manager of his promotions company? It was quite clear Pacquiao was bent on terminating Koncz as his adviser prior to his unscheduled trip to Manila. But Arum appears to have prevailed upon Pacquiao to spare Koncz from being chopped while a new set up or arrangement is in place. Later Pacquiao said Koncz stays. Critics and fans as well do not know for sure what Arum and Pacquiao are up to. But one thing is sure though?they need each other to keep their bank accounts active for a few more years. Right now, they are inseparable!
