Antonio Margarito is rebounding off a one-sided beat down at the hands of boxing?s biggest star Manny Pacquiao and recovering from trouble with his eyes, but that does not keep trainer Emanuel Steward from recognizing his fighter, Miguel Cotto, will have his hands full this December.
Cotto and Margarito are scheduled to fight December 3rd at Madison Square Garden in New York City ? a rematch of their 2008 match. In the first go around, Margarito pressured Cotto over a hard fought 11 rounds before earning a technical knock-out ? the first defeat of Cotto?s career.
Regardless of Margarito?s condition, Steward sees a dangerous foe before his star fighter.
?There is no doubt that Margarito is still a tough opponent due to his strength and size,? said Steward. ?He made Miguel work hard their first time around and it is something we need to avoid.?
Though Margarito?s victory was impressive in their initial go around, it was questioned after Margarito suffered a scandal for trying to bring tampered hand wraps into the ring for his very next fight against Shane Mosley.
Cotto has not decided if he will be training in Puerto Rico, or Florida.
