Nobody can say that Floyd Mayweather Jr has cherry picked this time. Floyd will step into the ring against a young strong world champion in Victor Ortiz. Recently Ortiz went to battle with the then WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto. The fight swayed back and forth with Ortiz coming out on top. It was a tough battle, and the young Ortiz prevailed and took the title.
Floyd Mayweather Jr love him or hate him is an extremely good fighter with an amazing ability to time his opponents. Floyd also has extremely good defense. He will give Ortiz a lot of trouble in this fight. Victor may be younger and perhaps stronger, but he is in for a big surprise when he faces the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr.
I will give Ortiz a lot of credit though. The kid bounced back very nicely after dropping a fight Vs Maidana and then going on live television telling the world that he may need to reconsider his future as a fighter. He fought to a very close MD Vs. Lamont Peterson, and six fights removed from his loss to Maidana, he gets the chance of a lifetime to fight the great Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Floyd Mayweather Jr just started camp a few days ago. He’s been pretty quiet as of late, and recently thrilled some of his fans by signing autographs and taking photos until the last fan left. This was a classy move by Floyd, and hopefully it will be signs of things to come.
