Four months away from their third fight with Manny Pacquiao, and Team Juan Manuel Marquez is looking to put together their sparring partners for the lightweight champion.
From his Romanza Gym in Mexico City, Hall of Fame trainer Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain discussed Marquez’s preparations for the November showdown.
A key member of the sparring team could be Antonio Fernandez, a featherweight from Panaman.
“We are going to try and bring over Fernandez,” said Beristain. “I hope he is in good conditions, because he likes to drink at times. The truth is he helped us a lot in preparing for the previous two fights with Manny Pacquiao.”
