World ranked Denver ?The Excitement? Cuello (27W-4L-6D, 17 KO?s) of Iloilo scored so many knockdowns in his second round TKO win against Omar ?El Pastor? Soto (15W-8L-1D, 6 KO?s) of Puerto Rico that I actually lost count.
Promoter Aljoe Jaro counted three in the first round in his e-mail to philboxing. But there were occasions when Soto hit the deck that were ruled either a slip or a push. Last year, in an unfortunate turn of events in Mexico, Cuello was disqualified when he had Juan Hernandez already down in the third round. Hernandez is set to challenge Kazuto Ioka for the WBC minimumweight title in Tokyo this August 10. There is nothing Jaro would want more than for Cuello for challenge the winner.
