Earlier tonight HBO aired another one of their quality Ring Life pieces, this version focusing on the September 17th welterweight title fight between WBC champion Victor Ortiz and undefeated superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. They face off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in a pay-per-view bonanza rarely seen in the sport.
During tonight?s segment, Mayweather spoke about the steps he took that helped mold him into the fighter he has become.
?When I was little I used to punch the doorknobs with my gloves,? said Floyd. ?When my Dad was doing his roadwork he would have a car following behind him, and I would get out the car and run with my father. In the city where I was from you were always tested.?
