Williams-Lara fight furor rages on: Goossen grounds teenaged son

The repercussions of the disgraceful decision in the Erislandy Lara-Paul Williams bout in Atlantic City continue to fly.

On Wednesday, the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board suspended judges Al Bennett, Hilton Whitaker Jr. and Donald Givens, none of who voted in favor the Cuban Lara who clearly outpointed Williams in the HBO main event.

In trying to fend off criticism of the decision (HBO?s Harold Lederman called it 117-111, Lara), promoter Dan Goossen said he watched a replay of the fight with one of his sons. According to the Head Goose, who handles Tall Paul at the behest of adviser Al Haymon, his son wanted to know why the HBO announcers were ?so mean? to former middleweight champion Williams.

Now, a source within the Goossen clan reveals, the promoter has suspended son Max, age 13,for one month under special terms which include:

1. Absolute ban on listening to or downloading any Katy Perry music.

2. No playing of ?Grand Theft Auto? or other violent video games.

3. Both boys must write an essay which begins, ?Steve Kim is never wrong on any matter related to boxing and that goes double for Dan Rafael.?

4. No contributions will be made for the sons? 529 Plan for future college expenses until such time as the decision is changed to a no contest.

5. If the boys want to listen to any music, it must be from the incredible Mariachi collection of their Spanish-speaking uncle and noted trainer, Joe Goossen.

6. If they want to follow the Dodgers, the boys must listen to Charley Steiner and the awesome Vince Scully on the radio only, no TV permitted.

7. The lads, if they want to look at boxing, can only watch John Ruiz tapes, otherwise known as ?Clutch Me In The Morning.?

8. Both boys must read Harold Lederman?s new book, ?Ring Generalship And Oxycontin: My Life As A Pharmacist & Boxing Oracle.?

9. The name “Lady Gaga” is not to be uttered inside the Goossen household for any reason.

10. Max must cease and desist using the nickname “Kellerman.”

11. More forced viewing, on Saturday night, no movies, only old Lawrence Welk show archive videos.

12. Meet & greet with vivacious Paris Hilton at The Palm in West Hollywood canceled, replaced by dinner with Bob Arum at Dan Tana’s.

(The above all meant in good fun.)
