PEDRO’S SCHEDULE, ODDS, & PREDICTIONS

Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA (HBO) Erik Morales (48-2) vs. Zahir Raheem (27-1) Odds/Predictions: Erik 3 1/2 to 1. Zahir never reached potential. Pure boxer from Philly. Morales, long established as one of era’s best. Hard to see Z winning here. $700 beans on Erik to win $200.

(HBO) Manny Pacquiao (39-3-2) vs. Hector Velazquez (42-10-2) Odds/Predictions: Manny 3-1. Dirty player Hector is bigger than Pacquiao physically. Should be give and take until….”Pac-Man” should win here! But because of size differential, I’ll pass on throwing down any MAJOR beans. $1,000 beans to win $333.33, as this will cover my champagne bill this weekend.

September 9,

The Sheffield Arena, Sheffield, England Clinton Woods (37-3-1) vs. Julio Gonzalez (38-2) (The Ring Magazine #6 Light Heavyweight vs. #4) (IBF Light Heavyweight belt) Odds/Predictions: Woods 2 1/2 to 1, based mainly on locale. Tough fight to call as Julio runs hot & cold!

Blue Horizon, Philadelphia, PA Eddie Chambers (23-0) vs. Robert Hawkins (20-3) Odds/Predictions: Even! Hawkins has fought much better guys. Was off six years, and is 35 to Chambers’ being 23. Other than age, I can find no advantage for younger pug.

El Foro, Tijuana, Mexico Manuel Medina (64-14) vs. Miguel Galindo (8-13) Odds/Predictions: Medina 4-1, I guess! Ring Magazine rates Medina #7? Manuel was KO’d by Scott Harrison in November 2003, had one fight in July 2004, and that a win over an 8-5 pug. Galindo has been KO’d ten times!

Coliseo Barcelo, Toa Baja, Puerto Rico Manny Siaca (19-5) vs. Tony Menefee (78-20-1) Odds/Predictions: Siaca 4-1. Dropping $4,000 beans on Siaca to win $1,000.

Palm Beach Convention Center, West Palm Beach, FL Daniel Edouard (16-1-2) vs. Willie Show (0-12)

DECC Auditorium, Duluth, MN Zachary Walters (12-1) vs. Boyd Davis (10-6) An unregulated card, seeing the Association of Boxing Commissions said they wouldn’t sanction Minnesota boxing anymore. And there is NO Commission in the state either.

MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV (PPV) Marco Antonio Barrera (60-4) vs. Robbie Peden (25-2) (The Ring Magazine #1 Jr. Lightweight vs. #10) Odds/Predictions: Barrera 3-1. (IBF Lightweight belt)

America West Arena, Phoenix, AZ Julio Cesar Chavez (108-5-2) vs. Craig Weber (21-1-2) Odds/Predictions: Julio 3-1. Too Old to put beans on, not even refried ones! Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (21-0) vs. Another Bum (1-13)

Dana Barros Sports Complex, Mansfield, MA John Duddy (11-0) vs. Joseph Brady (13-4-1) Odds/Predictions: Duddy 3-1. Will wager $3K worth of frijoles on Duddy, who has a future daye (see beating) by Andre Ward in his future!

Tokyo, Japan Lorenzo Parra (25-0) vs. Takefumi Sakata (24-2-1) (The Ring Magazine #2 Flyweight vs. #9) (WBA Flyweight belt) Parra 2-1. Would be more but fight in JAPAN! Will not bet on most fights in Japan!

September 20,

Sherman Street Event Center, Denver, CO Anthony Mora (14-0) vs. Michel Rosales (11-0) Odds/Predictions: Mora 6-5. Both guys have fought nothing but sub-par foes. Adrian Mora (13-0-1) vs. Roberto Valenzuela (31-15-1) Odds/Predictions: Mora 3-1.

Willing to put down $2,000 beans to win $1,000 on Nigerian. (HBO) Miguel Cotto (24-0) vs. Ricardo Torres (28-0) Cotto 2 1/2 to 1 over Colombian puncher. Dropping $5K in beans on Cotto here. You see, Top Rank’s Bruce Trampler, he would never err at this point with Cotto.

September 25,

Yokohama Arena, Yokohama City, Japan Hozumi Hasegawa (18-2) vs. Diego Morales (35-2) (The Ring Magazine #2 Bantamweight vs. Unranked) (WBC Bantamweight belt) Odds/Predictions: Battle of lefties! Prefer Japanese fighter at home. So does computer, and Diego, Erik’s brother has been in “Fixed” fights (Jerry Evans). Think being Erik’s brother has more to do with his success, than his skills.
