Interesting few weeks for Timothy Bradley

Well Timothy Bradley will be on the shelf for a while until he signs with a new promoter. When that will be, who knows. But there are some fights going on the next two weekends that could affect The Desert Storm.

The biggest fight that could have the most impact on Bradley is this week?s bout between Juan Manuel Marquez and Likar Ramos. If the unhearlded Ramos is somehow able to win, or even seriously hurt Marquez this week, it could throw a wrench in the Nov. 12 bout between Marquez and Manny Pacquiao. If for some reason Marquez is out, it could open the door for Bradley to step in and face Pacquiao. That would be a long shot, though. Indications are that Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather could fight early in 2012. Top Rank could consider facing Bradley too much of a risk to fight before a Pacquiao-Mayweather bout, and will want to save Bradley for afterwards. Remember, they?re talking about Pacquiao and Mayweather each making somewhere in the neighborhood of $40 million apiece. Moneywise, it would be better for Pacquiao?s promoters to face Bradley afterwards, not before. Of course, for Bradley to get serious consideration, he will likely have to sign with Pacquiao?s promoters, Top Rank.

Another fight that could affect Bradley is next weekend?s Amir Khan-Zab Judah unification bout. That date was originally set for a Bradley-Khan bout, but Bradley didn?t accept the deal. Because of that, Khan has done the typical baiting of Bradley, calling him scared of taking the fight. The fact that Khan-Bradley fell through might be the biggest disappointment this year. It promised to be an exciting fight. But if Khan is able to beat Judah, then a bout against Bradley would be for the undisputed 140-pound champion as each fighter would have two of the four major belts. Judah would be a great fight as well, but Bradley-Khan has been talked about for a long time. Bradley said waiting to fight Khan would benefit both fighters in the long run. If Khan wins next week, then Bradley would be on the money.
