I was recently asked on which fighters do I feel are a shot or two away from making some real noise. I must admit that it was a tough question for me to answer, I mean in all honesty there are a lot of fighters that are very close to breaking out. Some names that come to mind right away are Mickey Garcia, Kell Brook, Nathan Cleverly, Tavoris Cloud (pictured above), Fernando Guerrero, shawn Porter and Dimitry Pirog just to name a few. Below I name 5 fighters that you may or may have not heard about that seem to be creeping up beneath the radar, these are future threats to be excited about.

5. Amir Mansour- This heavyweight may be undersized at just 5′11? and he is considered to be old, at 38 years old, but this fighter is a real dog. Mansour is a real killer, Mansour moves in and out like he is 28 years old. Other younger fighters in his division may have more name recognition but I can guarantee you that they do not have the hunger of this ferocious fighter. 14-0 with 11 ko?s.
4. Mark Davis Jr.- This 24 year old super featherweight is the real deal. Nicknamed Too Sharp, this fighter is in fact too sharp for the opposition. Too Sharp has crazy insane defense, He moves and boxes like a young Floyd Mayweather Jr. In fact, Too Sharp in my opinion is the closest thing to Floyd. His footwork is very good, his reflexes are a thing of beauty, his hand speed is super, and his combinations flow like water. 15-0 with 5 ko?s.
3. Jessie Vargas & Mercito Gesta- Vargas is a light welterweight that steps inside the ring to take your heart. In Vargas?s last fight he stepped in and devoured Vivian Harris in one round. Vargas is 15-0 with 8 ko?s. Gesta is a fierce fighter that is developing into quite the finisher. This Lightweight is 21-0-1 with 11 ko?s.
2. Gennady Golovkin- Golovkin is a straight up animal. This fighter has no fear what so ever. When going up against this fighter, you will be tested to the max, his punch activity will make it very difficult to control this fighter. At 160, he may be the only fighter that can give Sergio Martinez a real fight. 20-0 with 17 ko?s.
1. Ismayl Sillakh- Sillakh is so good that I feel that he may be ready for Hopkins right now. This fighter places his punches perfectly and does not waste many punches. Sillakh will strike fear for years to come. This light heavyweight is 16-0 with 13 ko?s.
