?KP? TAKES ON MAYWEATHER, PACQUIAO, CHAVEZ JR, HBO AND MORE!

KP IN NOT THE BEST OF MOODS TODAY!

Los Angeles,CA- As many might not know I am an equal opportunity hater. When it comes to Floyd Mayweather (41-0, 25 KOs), Julio Ceasar Chavez Jr.(43-0-1, 30 KOs), HBO and sometimes even Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KOs), my tendency to try and stay positive goes out the window. Each subject in this column is going to get the proverbial ass whipping from me today!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SKIPS COURT DEPOSITION

Floyd is by no means a saint, and no one expects him to be. In skipping his deposition which was to begin Friday in Manny Pacquiao?s defamation suit filed against him in regards to Mayweather?s alleged allegations of the Filipino star?s use of performance enhancing drugs is mind boggling. Why not just give the courts the middle-finger while your at it?His disregard for the law is apparent and I think this was an opportunity to set the records straight. However, it?s quite obvious that while many believe he?s scared to fight Pacquiao (I am not one), he?s obviously scared of a courtroom. This isn?t the first time he?s skipped court appearances. Considering the amount of time Floyd has had to come up with a defense I am not sure what he?s got up his sleeve. I am looking forward to how this all plays out.

CHAVEZ JR GETS BELTED IN MEXICO

Julio Cesar “Paper Champ” Chavez Jr.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., a paper champion if there has ever been one, was given his WBC(World Bull?****? Council) middleweight (160 lbs) title belt today in Mexico. President of the Mexico based boxing sanctioning body, Jose Sulaiman, or ?Sillyman, as some call him, looked happy as he handed Mexico?s first middleweight champion (cough) the green trinket. Why was he happy? He knows that Chavez?s promoter Top Rank is going to milk (pimp) Chavez for all he?s worth. Unfortunately that is very little when it comes to ability. Yeah Chavez is somewhat entertaining to watch, but lets get back to reality. This is professional prizefighting. Champions should have world class ability. Street fights are exciting but no one is paying their hard earned money to watch them. I had absolutely no problem with Bob Arum putting up his own money to put the Mexican on his own Latin Fury PPV?s, but shoving this guy down the throats of HBO subscribers, some who pay as high as an $18 dollars per month premium is wrong. Actually that?s not really what bothers me. It?s the fact he gets to call himself a champion. This guy belongs on the undercard of an HBO After Dark card at best. Actually ESPN is the ideal place for his next title defense which is rumored to be against the ordinary, and former Contender star Peter Manfredo (37-6, 20 KOs). What?s funny about this to some, downright wrong to others, is that Manfredo is a B class fighter at best. They think they?re protecting Chavez with this pigeon. I wouldn?t be surprised to see the Rhode Island native pull off the upset. No knock on Manfredo, who always comes to fight, but I?m not sure what?s worse, Manfredo as the WBC middleweight champion or Chavez. I am almost throwing up (heave) as I contemplate this.

HBO HAS THE CHAMPION ON THE UNDERCARD THIS WEEKEND

IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud(22-0, 18 KOs) has to be one of the most under-appreciated champions in the sport today. He makes for entertaining fights. However, because the suits just can?t get it right, two 140lb contenders get the main event Saturday instead of the undefeated Cloud who defends his title against mandatory challenger Yusef Mack (29-3-2, 17 KOs) on the undercard. Both fighters in the main event lost in their last appearance on HBO. Neither of those bouts set the world on fire in terms of entertainment value. Does this make any sense? The main event between Lucas Matthysse (28-1, 26 KOs) and Devon Alexander (21-1, 13 KOs) is a good scrap on paper, however but considering that Alexander?s last two appearances on the network were lackluster and he lost clearly against Tim Bradley (27-0, 11 KOs) in January, losers don?t deserve to be rewarded as headliners on HBO. Hopefully I?m wrong here and the fight exceeds expectations considering it?s lack of press.

MANNY PACQUIAO IS A BETTER FIGHTER THAN A POLITICIAN

I don?t really have much to say about the Filipino congressman and pound for pound king except for that if he doesn?t end up fighting Floyd after he destroys Juan Manuel Marquez (52-5-1, 38 KOs) later this year (I think Marquez is past his peak and looking for a payday), he should retire. He has nothing else left to prove. However, if he were to actually give in to Floyd?s demand for random drug tests and beat Floyd handily I think he is no question top ten all-time as a prizefighter. All of this BS needs to stop, and although Floyd is a jerk, I think he has a chance to set the records straight. If he agrees to the test and Floyd balks, it?ll be clear that Floyd is ducking him. Best of all I won?t have to hear Pacroid or any of the other names derived for him on message boards and in the comments section here on Ringtalk.com. In actuality, both guys should be tested for the rest of their career (randomly) all the way up to the day of their contest for blood and urine. In reality that is really how Olympic Style Random Drug Testing are administered. No one told him to be in the spotlight, and the fact that he is a professional athlete there should be a sense of responsibility to prove you are clean using the best available methods of testing. I mean lets be serious about this? I don?t want to sound redundant but today?s testing is flawed. The commissions are still testing for everyone?s favorite performance enhancer; Marijuana!
