World’s Richest Man promotes: Slim & None, Carrot Top Alvarez vs. Manny Pacquiao

The invisible ink on the nonexistent bout contracts is not even dry yet.

If Don King is, as he self proclaimed long ago, the WGP, or World?s Greatest Promoter then Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helu will certainly become the WRP, World?s Richest Promoter, if he lands a horrible mismatch of a fight between 20 year old Carrot Top Saul Alverez against Manny Pacquiao for sometime next year.

I?ve heard of throwing the baby out with the bathwater, this is dunking the baby Alvarez into scalding water in which he will surely drown.

But, look on the bright side, Manny takes home $65 million guaranteed and I?ve already got a nickname for the bout which figures to go Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, where 136,000 people, the largest crowd in ring history, saw Mexican icon Julio Cesar Chavez beat game gringo Greg Haugen like, well the proverbial reheaded stepchild (anyone see a hair color theme here yet?).

In honor of the Moneybags promoter and of the Mexican fighter?s chances of winning, I nominate ?SLIM AND NONE? as our fight nickname.

If you want to get to cute, add this subtitle??AND NONE IS ACROSS THE BORDER???

I envision “Slim Jims” as being the most popular snack at ringside and no mobile phones not sold by Mr. Slim will be barred from the huge soccer arena in Districto Federal.

Btw, my stats crew informs me that Pacquiao has never beaten a redhead.

In an unfortunate press release circulated on Monday, we already got Pacman trainer Coach Freddie Roach?s prediction of the horse whipping the skilled but as green as New Mexico chili sauce prospect Alvarez would get from the lethal lefthander from Gensan.

Roach, who is pushing for a junior middleweight title chance for his charge Vanes Martirosyan, said that he wants Alvarez next and that the flame-haired fighter and Conan O?Brien lookalike would not go one full round with the Armenian fighter.

Here’s the pertinent part of the news release:

Trainer Freddie Roach would like to see WBC junior middleweight silver titlist Vanes Martirosyan (30-0, 19 KOs) face WBC champion Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez in his next fight. ?Everybody is talking about how great he (Alvarez) is. I think Vanes would knock him out in one round. Vanes won the eliminator to face him. Lets see how good ?Canelo? really is,? Roach stated. Alvarez faces Ryan Rhodes on June 18th. If Alvarez gets past Rhodes, Martirosyan would love to face him in the fall. ?I want Canelo next!,? demanded Martirosyan. ?I did my part and won the eliminator for the right to face him. Hopefully he does the honorable thing and fights me next.?
