Recently Golden Boy Promotions head Oscar De La Hoya and his right hand man Richard Schaefer issued a public apology to Manny Pacquiao. Before I get into this a bit deeper, let me first say that I wish Oscar De La Hoya all the best right now. Oscar is currently in a Substance Abuse Center. I am not exactly sure if it is drugs or alcohol or perhaps prescription drugs, nevertheless whatever it is, I pray Oscar gets clean and moves on with his life.
So Golden Boy apologized to Manny Pacquiao, and that was a stand up thing to do. Oscar also apologized to Bob Arum, which was also a stand up thing to do. That being said, I can almost guarantee that there will be no apologizes coming from the Mayweather side of the room.
Yes, Floyd did apologize for the racial rant that he went on where he dropped racial bombs on Asians, but he either firmly believes that Pacquiao is juicing, or he is using the steroid issue as his back door out of fighting. There will be no apologizes with the steroid accusations.
Does anyone out there feel as if ESPN’s Teddy Atlas owes Manny an apology? Teddy was on national television saying that Pacquiao’s opponents were basically washed up guys and no longer in their primes. Did Teddy forget about the Barrera fights? The Morales fights? These were epic wars that Manny was in well before he blew up to where he is now. Teddy seems to forget that Manny was cleaning house in the lighter divisions before he moved up in weight and cleaned out the heavier divisions. Advertisement

8CountNews.com based out of Jackson, Mississippi spoke with Teddy Atlas several times about Manny Pacquiao. Each time, Teddy would praise Manny but then he would get into the opponents that Manny faced. I don’t know, but who else other than Mayweather does Manny need to fight? I’m just asking.
Mississippians that I have spoken to about this subject all feel that Pacquiao is owed more apologies. I spoke with Jack Lindsey, a Pacquiao fan from Jackson, MS. Lindsey feels that the Mayweathers are the ones that owe the biggest apology, “It was nice to hear Golden Boy man up and apologize. It would be nicer to see Mayweather man up and apologize next.” Lindsey added, “Manny isn’t taking any stupid steroids, and for those who accuse him of it you better do your research before you shoot your fat mouth off.”
Manny Pacquiao just keeps fighting and winning. Everyone else who hates or bashes on Pacquiao can keep it up if they so choose, but history will record all of it.
