Since losing a razor thin decision to pound for pound kingpen Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez has had one goal – to avenge the lose in a third fight between the boxing titans.
On November 12, 2011, three years, seven months, and 28 days since their last encounter, Marquez will have his wish granted, as both men have reportedly agreed to the terms of a fight.

After spending nearly five years with Golden Boy Promotions, Marquez has walked away from Oscar De La Hoya’s firm to sign a five million dollar contract to fight Pacquiao with Top Rank, which will also give the lightweight champion a percentage of the pay per view upside. And if Marquez defeats Pacquiao, a fourth bout between the Filipino and Mexican would land Marquez ten million dollars and more pay per view upside. Advertisement
The match will be contested at a catchweight of 144 pounds, and is likely to be housed in Las Vegas, Nevada’s MGM Grand.
While Marquez and Pacquiao has long been featured on HBO boxing events, it is unclear if the bout will land back on the premium cable giant, or if Showtime – which aired Pacquiao’s victory over Shane Mosley – will land the bout.
