LAS VEGAS ? Proof that he has truly become a global phenomenon, Manny Pacquiao, the current face of boxing, will be coming out with his own commemorative ring.
Crafted by the renowned Henry Kay Jewellers under Howard G. Kaplan, two sets of commerative rings will be made available, one in gold and another in silver.
?The ring commemorates his legacy on what he does in the ring,? said Kaplan of Pacquiao, the only boxer to win eight titles in the same number of weight divisions.
Pacquiao, according to Kaplan, described the ring as `beautiful? and already sampled wearing it during his appearance in the Jimmy Kiemel Show and the final presscon for his Saturday fight against Sugar Shane Mosley.
Kaplan said proceeds of the sales to be generated from the Pacquiao commemorative ring will be given to charity benefiting poor children in the Philippines.
The boxing superstar is the latest in a long list of athletes and celebrities with whom the jewelry company manufactured and designed made-to-order commemorative rings.
The list includes basketball icon Michael Jordan, legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, major league baseball teams, NBA ballclubs, action superstar and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarze-negger, among others.
