Exclusive images: Behind the scenes at the final Pacquiao-Mosley presser

Moments ago inside of the Hollywood Theatre at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, the final press conference for this Saturday’s Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley WBO welterweight title bout was held. By this point all of the main training for each man has been complete and the only actions from the participants were a few select sound bytes.

At this point the fight boils down to Pacquiao being a heavy favorite because of his dangerous blend of speed and power, while the boxing world ardently debates just how much the 39-year old Mosley has left in his tank.

Mosley’s trainer Naazim Richardson addressed the media and was sure to point out that despite his age, Mosley is a ‘special’ fighter and still capable of great things. Richardson even compared Mosley to NBA hall-of-famer Michael Jordan, claiming that the Chicago Bulls legend may be retired but could still actively compete in the league if given the chance.

Pacquao was sure to give his respect to Shane, pointing out that this has been the best lead up to a fight from his standpoint because of the lack of trash talk from both ends. Pacquiao would later get sentimental, claiming that his biggest fight in life, which comes with his role as a congressman in the province of Sarangani in his native Philippines, is to end poverty.

There hasn’t been a lot to hang on to in terms of pre-fight drama due to the respectful nature of both guys but given their body work and proven heart, the fight should produce something meaningful.
