When Morales and Barrera, well beyond their boxing primed, enter a ring – it turns into the sort of affair you might see outside of a bar; two guys fighting over a girl, or some long forgotten slight.
Never would I have imagined that might speculation might become a reality.
Coming off a game, but never the less a defear, against Marcos Maidana earlier this month, it seems as if Morales might be headed to a fourth encounter against Barrera.
One source, states that Golden Boy Promotion is looking to make the fourth fight between the two Mexican legends on July 30th, with no specific venue mentioned. Advertisement
In 2000, Morales took a decision victory against Morales, while Barrera returned the favor in 2002, and 2004.
If a fourth bout is made, Morales will be 34 years old, and Barrera 37, and while Morales has remained active during his comeback, fighting four times since March, 2010, Barrera has only entered a ring four times since 2009.
It may be difficult for the duo to re-kindle the magic of their first three encounters, but it will be fun watching them try.
