When I spoke earlier today with Pacquiao strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza, I asked him if he were to ever write a book, what would he call it? Ariza thought a few seconds and said, “Living on planet Pacquiao.”
And true enough, those who are in Manny Pacquiao’s life are indeed living on planet Pacquiao. Training, fighting, TV shows, concerts, commercials, flying, politics, acting, and on and on. Manny Pacquiao lives a very active life.
Alex Ariza doesn’t take for granted the position that he is in. He realizes that he is working with one of, if not the greatest fighter that has ever lived.

There are many more people in boxing that Pacquiao has impacted.
I also spoke with Pacquiao sparring partner, Shawn Porter. Manny has impacted Shawn’s life as well. Porter is a rising boxing star in his own right, and working with Pacquiao now for two consecutive camps has only made him an even better fighter.
Porter is promoted by Mississippi based Prize Fight Promotions. I have seen him fight many times at the casino up in Tunica, MS. I always knew that the kid was good, but I didn’t think that he would get the opportunity to spar with Pacquiao, twice.

Freddie Roach without Manny Pacquiao would still be considered a great trainer but he’s considered even greater than great. There is no doubt that Pacquiao has propelled Roach from a great trainer status to an elite hall of fame trainer status.
This list goes on and on. Pacquiao has impacted many, and for those who do live on planet Pacquiao, they should be grateful.
