Boxing: Pacquiao gears up for final sparring session ahead of Mosley fight

Manny Pacquiao will embark on his final sparring session on Monday before he departs for Las Vegas where he will take on Shane Mosley for the WBO welterweight title.

The hour-long workout officially closes Pacquiao?s intense seven-week training camp for the eagerly-anticipated fight against Mosley on Saturday night in ‘Sin City’, which began with a three-week stay in the mountain hideaway of Baguio and has seen him chalk up countless rounds of sparring.

The eight weight champion, dubbed the ‘Fighting Pride of the Philippines’, will spar two rounds each with unbeaten welterweight Shawn Porter and veteran lightweight Rey Beltran Jr at the Wild Card gym in Los Angeles as prepares to go toe-to-toe with face the naturally bigger Mosley.

Once he arrives in the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’, Pacquiao will then embark on the customary media pre-fight razzmatazz which will see both fighters welcomed during a ‘grand arrival’ at the lobby of the MGM Grand on Tuesday by Top Rank chief and fight promoter Bob Arum.

On Thursday, both men will face the media for the final press conference ahead of the fight, before the official weigh-in takes place 24 hours later.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach insists he will not allow talk that the Mosely camp, particularly chief trainer Nazim Richardson, intend on complaining about Pacquiao’s hand wraps prior to the fight to affect his man.

?All I hear about is that they?re going to complain about the hand wraps,? said Roach. ?That?s what Nazim?s an expert at and try to get at Manny?s head. I won?t let that happen. I won?t allow that argument.?
