ORIENTAL and Pacific Boxing Federation super-featherweight king Randy Suico is scheduled to leave for Japan on Tuesday for a one-week training for bigger fights ahead.
Suico, earlier groomed to face Erik Morales before the Mexican’s camp pulled out of the fight, will be joined by trainer Juanito Ablaca and boxer Cesar Yarte.
The WBC no. 4 Suico will most likely defend his OPBF title in Cebu, possibly against the mandatory challenger from Indonesia.
The 25-year-old Suico last saw action on April 27, knocking out Thai Muangfahlek Kiatwichean in the fourth round in Lapu-Lapu City.
Meanwhile, RP junior welter champ Bart Abapo scored yet another important win in South Korea when he prevailed on an eighth-round technical decision over Korean champ Dong Geun Jang the other night in Ilsan, Kyungkido, Korea.
Abapo was leading most of the way before the referee decided to stop the fight owing to two cuts suffered by the Filipino from accidental headbutts.
Abapo is slated to return to the country tonight, according to his manager Antonio L. Aldeguer.
