Last night in Las Vegas we witnessed an incredible performance from a veteran who was left for dead as Erik Morales went toe to toe with Argentina’s Marcos Maidana over twelve pulsating rounds. While Morales would end up losing a majority decision he was able to show that he sitll has plenty of fight left inside of him by offering up a spirited and odds-defying effort.
Also on the ‘Action Heroes’ show was a fast-paced victory by Brooklyn’s Paulie Malignaggi over Jose Miguel Cotto, a huge upset as Japan’s Nobuhiro Ishida stopped previously undefeated James Kirkland in one round, and a breakthrough performance by Robert ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero, who pounded out a tough twelve round decision over gritty Australian Michael Katsidis.
