BOBBY PACQUIAO is expected to earn a huge payoff underneath the lightweight rematch between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo on Oct. 8 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
This was disclosed yesterday by Bobby’s more popular brother, Manny.
“Malaki ang magiging premyo ng kapatid ko,” said Pacquiao, who is reportedly going to earn R39 million in his showdown with Hector Velazquez of Mexico on Sept. 10.
Manny, however, did not elaborate how much Bobby will get from the fight.
A check on the internet did prove Bobby’s appearance on said date and venue, but what was even more stunning was the opponent he is going to deal with.
Boxrec.com said Bobby is set to battle Carlos “Famoso” Hernandez, a tough-as-nails slugger from Los Angeles who went the distance with Erik Morales last year.
Originally from the Central American republic of El Salvador, Hernandez sports a 41-5-2 win-loss-draw slate stuffed with 24 knockouts.
Hernandez has never been stopped in his career.
Bobby, 24, took the limelight recently after stopping the heralded Carlos Navarro of the US in the seventh round in Fresno, California, last month. He holds a 25-11-3 mark with 11 knockouts.
Bobby’s victory over Navarro was his second fight on US soil after making his debut there late last year.
But if everything falls into place, he will get the chance to showcase his wares in front of a highly-discriminating audience when he locks horns with the 34-year-old Hernandez.
