THE Games and Amusements Board (GAB) publicly declared that Manny Pacquiao can count on its support should the “People’s Champ” opt to sue his Filipino promoter, Rod Nazario.
GAB’s statement came after Pacquiao’s lead counsel, Judd Berstein, went public last Friday on his call for GAB to probe Nazario, who was also Pacquiao’s financial manager, for allegedly mishandling Pacquiao’s tax obligations with the Internal Revenue Service.
Burstein even went as far as saying that Nazario should be “banned” from boxing.
Burstein’s call for an action by the GAB came days after Pacquiao’s 33-million, breach-of-contract lawsuit against promoter Murad Muhammad, sued for allegedly withholding money from Pacquiao, ended in big triumph for Pacquiao in the US courts.
Muhammad settled out of court for an undisclosed amount before an eight-person jury could come up with a verdict.
