REXON Flores knocked down Indonesian Alwy Alhabsy of Indonesia twice and retained his World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific flyweight title by unanimous decision Saturday night at the Olivarez Sports Center in Sucat, Para?aque City.
Judges Edwin Sese gave the bout to the 22-year-old Flores at 117-109, Rudy Perez saw it at 119-109, while Virgilio Garcia scored it 116-110.
The Bebot Elorde-managed Flores, currently ranked WBO No. 6, improved to 14-2-2 (win-loss-draw) with 7 knockouts while Alhabsy absorbed his fifth loss in 27 fights.
WBO Asia Pacific chair Leon Panoncillo was at ringside.
The Indon went down twice in the third round but was able to recover in the latter stages of the fight.
Panoncillo had earlier announced that a Flores victory would put him in a good position to vie for the WBO world title soon.
