Casual talk from HOLLYWOOD, California – Whether you like or not, something big is coming up for this man from Talibon, Bohol, Philippines. His name is Nonito Donaire, Jr. While his somewhat assimilated personality into the multi-cultural blend of America, i.e. African-Americans, Hispanics and plus a ganster-like of behavior of his usual gestures and etchetera, if not a bit more decent than the obvious ones that which in some way makes him unbecoming of a real Pinoy, Donaire, Jr. continues to find a specific niche in marketing his image to a larger segment of the Maharlikan nation.
And heretofore, we have this ABS-CBN promotional film for him. Click here: http://www.examiner.com/filipino-celebrity-headlines-in-national/abs-cbn-donaire-film-video
To some, the short promotional film by ABS-CBN lacks definition of his personality and the appeal that he needs to earn a better forum to the path of a cross-over acceptability into the subconsciousness of the well-entrenched Pacquiao fans. To others, it is simply a motivational push from the ABS-CBN staff being the chosen primary television channel in the Philippines for his upcoming fight against World Boxing Council/World Boxing Organization Bantam Weight Champion, Fernando Montiel of Mexico.
Considering the great talents ABS-CBN has, shouldn’t there be a creative fervor into this promotional film?
What do you think is the better way to define Donaire, Jr.’s target audience?
