ORIENTAL and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) bantamweight champ Malcolm Tu?acao will make the third defense of his title against WBA superflyweight No. 10 Daigo Nakahiro of Japan.
According to the official website of the OPBF (opbf.jp), Tu?acao’s defense will take place on Feb. 5 in Osaka, Japan. It was earlier posted on boxrec.com that he will defend against Mikio Yasuda.
The 32 year old Tu?acao (27W-2L-3D, 16 KO’s) won the WBC world flyweight title 11years ago and reigned for only 10 months before losing to Pongsaklek Wonjongkam of Thailand.
Tunacao, who is now based in Kobe, Japan, won the OPBF title in February 2010 by split decision against Seung-Suk Chae in South Korea. The southpaw from Mandaue City had two successful defenses in Japan last year against Kohei Oba by unanimous decision and Hidenobu Honda by 5th round TKO.
The 29 year old Nakahiro (21W-3L-1D, 8 KO’s) is a former Japanese superflyweight champion but lost his last fight by unanimous decision to Yota Sato. Nakahiro fought and beat Filipino Flash Villacura, by 5th round TKO in 2007.
