Boxing’s greatest fighter is naturally boxing’s greatest newsmaker.
Or, as Reggie Jackson would describe it, Manny Pacquiao is the straw that stirs boxing’s drink.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the second straw, yeah sure, but in 2010 he mainly stirred it bad.
Mayweather’s various and childish antics drew more coverage from celebrity bad deeds website, TMZ, than he recieved from the boxing sites aside from his May 1 points victory over Sugar Shane Mosley.
To be fair, Pacman had one-sided victories over the Easy Pickings Twins, meaning pacifist Joshua Clottey and the faded Antonio Margarito.
But outside the ring, Pacman made some great strides in his role as the freshman Congressmanny from Sarangani Province.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed because Mayweather-Pacquiao may happen come November, 2011.
But, in the meantime, let’s look back to 2010, the year this White Gorilla made his first but not his last visit to Pacland.
