All the fans that we have ran across are ALL shaking their head. They all ask, “How could Manny let Bob Arum talk him into a stupid fight like this” I mean even his Filipino followers are a little lost on this. When we took a poll, the results were Marquez, then Berto, and lastly Mosley. All this crap about being able to market Sugar Shane Mosley is hog wash. Nobody and I mean nobody wants to see Pacquiao in there with a 39 yr old fighter. He in the world has any kind of “reflexes” at 39 yrs old when it comes to boxing? Shame on Bob Arum, Shame on Manny Pacquiao and Shame on Shane Mosley.
It is no surprise that Mosley himself knows that he can’t beat Pacquiao. What he does know is that he has alot of money he has to shell out to his ex-wife Jin. In order for Shane to keep up with his lifestyle and make sure Jin’s lifestyle is up to par, he must secure big fights. I can see the conversation now. Oscar, please let me get out of my contract. This is the only way Bob Arum is going to let me fight him. If I’m still signed to you, then I won’t get a shot to make this kind of money again. I will still give you your cut, but I can’t have any ties to Goldenboy Promotions name. Ok Sugar, no problem, but dont’ forget I still want my cut and after you lose I have it in our contract that you must sign right back to our company. Ok, thanks Oscar, your the best.
This is why boxing is losing steam to the MMA fighters. They don’t do stuff like that. Bob Arum is helping boxing go down hill. If it isn’t with bullcrap fights like this, then he is making Manny face everybody that is signed to Top Rank so the money can stay in his pocket. He says that Marquez is too small to fight at 147lbs but he doesn’t have to weight 147lbs. Just like when Pacquiao didn’t weight 154lbs for his fight with Margarito.
Let’s not forget Berto. Everybody wants to count him out, but he has the WBC belt for a reason. Everyone talks about the Luis Collazo fight but Luis is a great fighter that would give “anybody” problems. Berto is the WBC Champion, and he’s undefeated. If anything, he deserves the shot more than anybody. Alot of people think he will get blown out, but what does it matter. Everybody thinks that Pacquiao can beat anybody at 147lbs. Except Mayweather !!!
