WBC and WBO world bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel (44-2-2, 34 KOs) dispatched unheralded Giovanni Soto with ease earlier this evening in Mexico, stopping the little known challenger in less than six minutes. The knockout win set the table for a proposed Feb. 19, 2011 mega fight between Montiel and rising Filipino star Nonito Donaire.
