The support of Rep. Manny Pacquiao (Saranggani) for the Campaign against Coal Plants by becoming a co-author to House Resolution No. 692 calling for a moratorium on coal-fired power plant construction and expansion was welcomed by the Bayan Muna, a press release from the group said.
?Rep. Pacquiao could be a valuable campaigner for environmental issues. It is natural for him to be concerned with health and safety, one of his basic principles as a boxer,? Bayan Muna Rep. Neri Javier Colmenares said in the press release.
By co-authoring the resolution of Bayan Muna and other progressive party list groups, together with Rep. Lani Mercado, he said they hope that more people will become aware of the deleterious effects of coal-fired power plant.*
