MANILA, Philippines ? Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum hopes to have everything in place by the time he heads back to the US after attending Manny Pacquiao?s 32nd birthday celebration.
?I will be spending the holidays in Cabo (San Lucas) in Mexico,? Arum said from Los Angeles, sounding confident that by the time he frolics in the beautiful beaches, he would already have a deal in place.
Arum is going be in the country from Dec. 14 to 19 with his wife Lovee to personally greet Pacquiao and present him the proposals for his next fight scheduled April 16, 2011 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Arum has the offer sheets from Shane Mosley and Andre Berto and is only waiting for the proposal from Juan Manuel Marquez to arrive so he could weigh everything and present it to the Filipino pound-for-pound king.
Pacquiao?s lawyer, Franklin Gacal, has been notified about the date and place and said it is a good date.
?Okay lang ang date,? said Gacal. ?Basta huwag lang March kasi masyadong dikit na.?
Mosley is the leading candidate to be signed up as Pacquiao?s next foe since he has already started initial talks with the Top Rank chief aside from the fact that Pacquiao himself had said that the 39-year-old US puncher remains an attractive opponent to boost pay-per-view sales.
Pacquiao hasn?t fought in Las Vegas since stopping Miguel Cotto in November 2009.
Pacquiao?s two fights this year were hosted by Texas billionaire Jerry Jones at Cowboys Stadium.
