CEBU derby aficionados get to see how good Manny Pacquiao is outside the ring as a breeder when he pits his “Pacman” birds against the country’s best in the P2.2 Million Mantawi Festival Celebration 5-Cock Derby on May 3 to 7 at the New Gallera De Mandaue.
Pacquiao, who was invited by promoter Rex “Wakee” Salud to pit his gamefowls against such luminaries as Boy Marzo, Sonny Lagon, Patrick Antonio, Nene Abello, said he was told by Salud to join the derby after gracing the “Kadaugan sa Mactan 3” event last April 27.
Pacquiao owns Sweater bloodlines, the most famous strain of fighting cocks in the country today, which he had acquired from friends and American breeders.
