Former world champion Fernando Vargas weighs in with his thoughts on a potential bout between six-time titlist Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 knockouts) and Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs), an eight-time champion who is owner of the WBO welterweight (147 pounds) and WBC junior middleweight (154 pounds).
Mayweather was last in the ring in May, when he scored a one-sided, HBO pay per view televised, Golden Boy Promotions unanimous decision victory over former WBA king Shane Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KOs), and Pacquiao is coming off of last month’s Top Rank Promotions unanimous decision win over ex-titlist Antonio Margarito (38-7, 27 KOs).
