Watching Amir Khan run around in a circle tonight while fighting Marcos Maidana as he was getting knocked around the ring was pathetic.
It was round 7 and he started to fade. At this point I didn?t know what the outcome was going to be, but I knew one thing for sure. Amir Khan is nowhere near Floyd Mayweather?s level.
He had no gameplan and while he may have won some rounds, he does so very impressively. Mayweather has the ability to be the aggressor, or fight out of a defensive posture; either way his speed and boxing ability would make a sitting duck out of Khan.
Hopefully, Mr. Mayweather takes Freddie Roach up on his offer and fights Khan. He would beat him and then hopefully we could get the Manny Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown that we all want to see.
Khan may have beat Marcos Maidana by a decision, but he had to run away in the later rounds. That wont work with Mayweather.
Mayweather will be motivated to prove something in a fight with Khan. So motivated that he?ll punish him and knock him out early. Then, he could move on and do the same to Manny Pacquiao.
