The 32-year-old Margarito (38-7, 27 KOs) underwent 75 minutes of surgery on Nov. 16 to repair a fractured right orbital bone, but already is planning a return to the ring, according to his manager, Sergio Diaz.
“Surgery was a success. Antonio is currently in the recovery room,” Diaz wrote to FanHouse in a text message. “Surgery was an hour and fifteen minutes, and doctors say that he must have at least 60 days without any contact.”
In an HBO pay per view televised, Top Rank Promotions event, Pacquiao added the WBC’s junior middleweight (154 pounds) belt to his WBO welterweight (147 pounds) title, earning his eighth championship over as many weight classes, as well as his 13th straight win, including eight knockouts during that run.
