Up and coming flyweight sensation Randy Petalcorin repeated his mastery over All Doronilla to capture the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) flyweight title Saturday evening at the Glan Municipal Gym in Sarangani.
Petalcorin sent Doronilla to the canvass in the first round with a vicious body shot and then put him away for good in the second round with another punishing body blow.
The referee waived the bout without ending the count for a technical knockout win for Petalcorin.
Petalcorin, who is managed by JC Mananquil of General Santos City, improved his ring record to nine wins (eight by knockout) and a single loss.
The 19-year old flyweight sensation from General Santos City repeated his second round TKO win over Doronilla when the two fought as light flyweights last July.
In another PBF championship fight, Ray Las Pi?as stopped journeyman Ruben Santillanosa in the seventh round to also capture the bantamweight crown in his 18th professional fight.
Las Pi?as. Also of JR Mananquil Stable, traded heavy blows with Santillosa in six entertaining rounds before connecting with a right straight in the solar plexus of the fighter from Upi, Maguindanao to end the fight in th seventh round.
Santillosa fell to the canvass writhing in pain and briefly vomited.
Attending physicians however declared him out of danger.
In other bouts, JR Macadumpes made his successful debut by stopping Richard Sagan of Dipolog City in three rounds.
Joel Romasasa likewise stopped Gerard Tuyor also in the third round while brother Aroel Romasasa eked out a split decision win over Jhong Jong Ponteras in six rounds.
Unbeaten bantamweight JR Idurot stopped Dondon Navarez to earn his sixth knockout win in as many professional bouts.
In a featured amateur fight, Mocmoc Navarette stopped his opponent (outclassed) and gave a glimpse of what his father was during his younger years.
The 16-year old amateur is the second child of former world super featherweight boxing champion Rolando Navarette by his fourth wife.
