Pacquiao Vs Margarito: The showdown of the Year is Here!

Pacquiao Vs Margarito: The showdown of the Year is Here! The most debated, speculated and awaited Boxing match of the year is just days away. Come November 13, and Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao and Antonio ‘Tijuana Tornado’ Margarito will fight it out for the currently vacant World Boxing Council super-welterweight crown.

Besides the category being closer to the Mexican’s forte, Margarito has another advantage, that is his height; 5 feet 11, a full four inches taller than Pacquiao; making the showdown even closely matched. However it’s his speed that keeps the Filipino’s spirits soaring high.

“I think will be enough so I can maintain my speed. As I have been saying, it’s still my quickness that will serve as my biggest advantage over Margarito in this fight,” Pacquiao told the press after his workout at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, on Friday, just before he left for the match in Texas. “I already tried to increase my weight to 150 or 152 but I couldn’t move like I used to. So when we arrived here, we just keep that 148 as much as possible,” he added.

Pacquiao’s chief trainer, Freddie Roach said, “Manny is correct, maintaining his present weight would be great. We won’t mind him (Margarito) getting heavier and heavier. That would be to his disadvantage than ours,” he added. He shared his pupil’s observation, saying the heavier Margarito is the time of the fight, the slower he gets.

Margarito’s trainer Robert Garcia, on the other hand, said that his disciple, who is under deep training in Oxnard, California, has no as such nutrient restrictions. He said that he can eat whatever he wants as long as they’re not very high on fat.

The two are set to fight for the championship on November 13, at the Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas.
