BOHOLANO boxing sensation Rey ?Boom-Boom? Bautista never ceases to amaze.
Training at the Wild Card Gym of Freddie Roach, the talent and skills of the youthful Bautista caught the fancy of California feature writer Francisco Salazar, who stopped by at the Hollywood gym to conduct interview with the New Generation ALA Boy.
It was a flattering experience for the reigning World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific bantamweight champion, who will be featured sometime next week in the boxing website Fightnews.com.
The amiable Salazar, who also writes for Boxing News Daily, met the youthful Bautista after his heavy workout with Roach. During the interview, Salazar asked Bautista several questions, including his impression when he sparred with Mexican International Boxing Federation super-bantamweight champion Israel Vasquez, who is also a regular Manny Pacquio sparmate.
Bautista was not intimidated by his world-class sparring mate, but said Vasquez is a good champion to go with his nice personality.
It was not only Vasquez who traded punches with Bautista. Another Mexican fighter, George Diaz, also a sparring partner of Pacquiao, gave the Cebu-based fighter an explosive session.
Bautista?s stint under the watchful eyes of Roach does not only give the 18-year-old boxer an excellent learning experience, it also gives him a chance to meet world champions Vernon Forest, Vasquez and James Toney
