LOS ANGELES ? Agitated over unconfirmed reports that Manny Pacquiao is taking his training lightly, Antonio Margarito growled that the Filipino star will pay dearly if he comes to the fight not in tip-top shape.
But Margarito said he doesn?t believe Pacquiao is going to next week?s world super-welterweight title match in Dallas not the Pacquiao of old, who is fast and furious.
Still, regardless of Pacquiao?s physical shape come fight night, he would feel that he made a big blunder in accepting to face Margarito, nicknamed the Tijuana Tornado.
When they actually get it on, Margarito said Pacquiao would suddenly realize ?what he had gotten into.?
Robert Garcia, Margarito?s trainer, said pressure is going to befuddle Pacquiao, who he said ?easily backs off? when attacked.
Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach added fuel to the fire when widely quoted that Pacquiao would easily knock Margarito out.
?He better watch he says,? said Margarito, who promises to pull off a stunning upset. ?Nick Giongco
