DALLAS, TX – Hall of Fame boxing trainer Emanuel Steward says he can show how Antonio Margarito’s trainer tried to cheat with illegal inserts against Shane Mosley in that celebrated case.
That and 60 years worth of boxing secrets and anecdotes will be discussed Saturday October 23 at the Maple Avenue Boxing Gym when Steward brings his Emanuel Steward’s Boxing Clinic to Dallas. The day long clinic is for boxing officials, fighters and corner men.
“I’ve been doing this for six months but in a way I’ve been doing this my entire life,” said Steward of the world renowned Kronk Gym of Detroit, Michigan and a popular HBO boxing analyst.
“Boxers have nutritionists, fitness trainers and publicists but we forgot to train a new era of trainers,” said Steward. “The old trainers are dying out like the dinosaurs and for the most part aren’t being replaced by experienced authoritative younger trainers. I hope this effort helps in some way,” he added.
