The 20-year old welterweight hopeful asked for her hand in marriage and the happy couple later broke the news to relatives and close friends in a private gathering in Mexico, says Jhonny Gonzalez at BoxingScene.com.
Alvarez signed an exclusive deal with Golden Boy Promotions earlier this year and his first fight in America under their umbrella took place at the MGM Grand underneath Manny Pacquiao?s 12th round stoppage over Miguel Cotto. In that bout Alvarez was stunned midway through the contest by Jose Miguel Cotto before regrouping to stop his smaller foe in the 9th in his first Las Vegas showcase.
