Donaire is being described as a tough and strong fighter that will surely give the WBO No. 4 bantamweight contender Gorres a lot of trouble. One of Donaire?s shining moments was when he reached the semifinals of the U.S. Olympic Boxing Trials in Tampa, Florida last year.
The 22-year-old Gorres, who hails from Mandaue City, holds an 18-1-1 win-loss-draw record spiked with 10KOs, but Donaire is as impressive with a 13-1 slate packed with eight stoppages.
Gorres hopes to draw extra strength and power from his manager Antonio ?Bidoy? L. Aldeguer, international promoter Sammy Gello-ani, trainer Edito Villamor and stablemate Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista, the reigning WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight, who will all be at the ringside to cheer for him.
