Once upon a time during his superlative pro basketball career, someone asked Michael Jordan why he never took on any social issues, why he never took any sort of political stand.

Which brings me to the sorry situation of Floyd Mayweather Jr., who, in one V-rated (v for vomit inducing) video, maligned and castigated Asians, homosexuals, midgets and whores.
As far as I know, people in those categories all buy sneakers also.
I’ve just come from Sunday Mass and, while I am imbued with Christian compassion, Mayweather’s so-called apology was unacceptable and I believe that the time has come to kick this donkey?no disrespect to mules, you fools?right where it hurts.

It’s time to kick Mayweather right in the pocket, his most vulnerable spot. When a guy refers to himself as ?Money,? you know what his paramount concern in life really is.
It’s time to let tell Herbert Hainer, the CEO of German based Adidas, that you are boycotting any and all Adidas/Reebok products because of Mayweather’s woeful misconduct.
As part of his verbal diarrhea, I’m sure you noticed, Mayweather described Manny Pacquiao’s Nike deal as peanuts while bragging that Reebok gave him $3 million to wear their shoes and warm up togs.
Mayweather seems a bit confused as to whether Adidas/Reebok paid him $3 million in one lump sum, or one million per week for three weeks. What international company makes an endorsement deal with a famous athlete for 21 days, anyway?
But let’s assume that L’il Floyd has a continuing Big Deal with Reebok.
Some ways you can kick Misfit Mayweather for his ?hate speech? are:
1. Call, write or email both Reebok and Adidas.
2. Go to your local sporting goods store and tell the owner or manager that you will refuse to purchase anything any Adidas/Reebok product of any kind unless and until Adidas/Reebok cuts all ties with Mayweather and denounces his ignorant remarks.
3. Call, write or email HBO’s headquarters in New York?their phone number is 212 566 1000 and ask for the Boxing staff. Tell whoever answers that you will not not buy any fight involving Mayweather unless and until HBO reprimands Mayweather.
4. Call, write or email Golden Boy Enterprises in Los Angeles?the main number is 213 489 5631?and register your disgust with their being Mayweather’s apologists.
5. Support Nike and let that company know why you do, not because they have a deal with Pacman but because they do not deal with hater Mayweather.
6. Support the other German based sneaker giant, Puma, and let them know why, because you do not support a louse named Mayweather.
7. Contact the below listed mutual funds, all of which own Adidas shares, and tell them you were thinking of investing with them but you cannot because of the Adidas/Reekbok/Mayweather link.
The worst thing anyone who despises Mayweather’s conduct can do is to return the racial/ethnic slurs.
Whether you do that on my comments page or elsewhere on the Internet, you only brand yourself as as sleazy and slimey as Mayweather has revealed himself to be.
Take the high road and let Mayweather remain in the gutter as he seems to think it’s funny down there.
