LAST May, Manny Pacquiao?s American trainer Freddie Roach had warned that Juan Manuel Marquez was a complicated fighter.
But Pacquiao had insisted it would be easy to stop the Mexican counter-puncher.
Roach has been proven right after Marquez escaped with a draw despite being downed three times in the first round.
Curiously, Pacquiao and Roach have shifted stands for the Erik Morales fight.
While Pacquiao has cautioned fans against expecting a KO win, Roach now sounds certain his fighter would be able to win by knockout inside 10 rounds.
“Quite frankly, Morales is an easier fight than a rematch with Marquez or Marco Antonio Barrera,” Roach said.
Roach did agree that Morales, taller, will probably enter the ring at least 10 lb heavier than Pacquiao.
“Frankly, that will be to our advantage since he will be slower and he won’t be able to cope with Manny’s speed,” Roach claimed.
But the key, Roach bared, is that it’s easy “to draw Morales into a war and that is where he will pay the price because of the devastating punching power of Manny.”
Just the same, Roach told Pacquiao to watch out because Morales is effective at close range with his uppercut.
