ERIK Morales admits he is using Willie Limond as a stepping stone to a third clash against world No.1 Manny Pacquiao.
But first the three-weight world champion must overcome the Glasgow ring star when they meet in Mexico City on September 11 for the new WBC diamond super-featherweight crown.
Morales beat Pacman when they first met in 2005 but has been stopped twice since by the Filipino. He said: “I would like to fight Pacquiao again but I am not obsessed with him. I am working to get back to the top, back where I was before, to be top of the plateau. I have a six-fight plan and this is my second one.”
Morales will bid for his 50th career win when he tackles former Commonwealth lightweight champion Limond.
He added: “Fighting is what I do best. Fans will see a faster, stronger Morales who is absolutely going to rock the ring.”
