In the past, Bernard Hopkins has been the first to admit that he’d get his ass whopped in the UFC’s Octagon, if fighting under MMA rules. Recently on Sirius’ Hardcore Sports Radio program, Hopkins reaffirmed his feelings and also went on to diss James Toney for being out of his league in going up against Randy Couture in the UFC.
Speaking on Sirius’ Radio, Hopkins stated: “I think James Toney is going to get his ass kicked. James Toney is out of his league.”
Hopkins then went on record to say that the best UFC fighters on their own turf would defeat the best boxers, such as Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao. “I believe and I’ll go on record with this, the best MMA guy or UFC guy goes up against the boxer in the world, in their arena … gets their ass kicked,” stated Hopkins, adding: “I don’t care if it’s Floyd, Pacquiao or Bernard Hopkins. It’s not what we do.”
