Bacolod City- WBC International Minimumweight Champion Denver ?Mr. Excitement? Cuello-Singwangcha once again showed the fight fans why he is the most dangerous man within the 105 and 108 lbs division. Cuello fought as a supporting main event in the Double Philippine Championship held at the Casino Filipino in Bacolod City, Philippines. The event was promoted by JR Eagle Promotions in cooperation with international promoters Aljoe Jaro and Thai Realty Magnate Naris Singwangcha.
Cuello faced a tough veteran Arnel Tadena of Bohol. The two warriors started feeling each others power in the first two rounds until Cuello started the onslaught of his opponent in the third by throwing accurate head and body combos. Tadena?s face looked like a shipwreck at the end of the third round, his nose bloodied and his face swollen.
Cuello continued with the barrage of punches at the opening of the fourth round. Tadena, tried to punch back but Cuello?s speed, power and accuracy was just too much for the Boholano warrior. Having no answer to Cuello?s arsenals, Tadena turned his back twice reminiscent of a Roberto Duran quitting in the ring against Sugar Ray Leonard. At the mark of 2:42 of the fourth round, referee Samson Libres stopped the fight to avoid further damage thus giving Cuello a TKO victory.
This was Cuello?s second tune-up fight after his controversial disqualification loss to Juan Hernandez in Monterrey, Mexico. According to his manager Aljoe Jaro, it is advantageous that his fighter keeps himself busy with fights while waiting for his highly anticipated world title shot against WBA 105 King Roman Gonzales of Nicaragua.
Cuello is scheduled to defend his WBC International Belt against former Minifly Champ Muhammad Rachman of Indonesia late this September in Iligan City.
